What’s a book or movie that genuinely scared you?
“The Human Centipede”
I will never forget watching that gruesome film with my cousin Sam in his basement. I realized as I got older- the plot can be viewed as metaphorical.

Being that Joel was a Holocaust survivor, he never felt safe *putting all eggs in one basket*. He stockpiled and hid away valuables. For him, the holocaust could easily re-occur. He hid cash throughout 744. This was challenging being that when he started losing more memory- he would often forget his *hiding places*. Joel had orally conveyed over to me when I initially moved in with him that he wanted the *gold* to be for my wedding. He wanted me, like my sibs, to have a *big* wedding. That was his dream

Thankfully my brilliant partner is a Yale grad ✨️ so we often visit the housing we used to dwell in. It was pretty low-key and peaceful, simple living for us. Comfy and surrounded by scholars such as ourselves. We value education and comfort. It was challenging being raised in a community where secular studies was a sore subject.
